Summit Charter Academy (SCA) Lombardi Campus serves approximately 650 students from transitional kindergarten to sixth grade.  SCA Lombardi is located in the city of Porterville near the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in California’s Central Valley. The campus is a dependent charter school of the Burton School District in the fifth year of operation.  In 2014, Summit Charter Academy Lombardi Campus was recognized as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. Through the IB programme, the school strives to provide students with experiences that are engaging, relevant, challenging, and significant.  The culture at SCA Lombardi encourages students to be curious and inquisitive while exploring and interacting with their environment physically, socially, and intellectually.  The One to World initiative has been key in helping students gain a global perspective.  A multi-year rollout of that initiative has fully equipped every student from grades transitional kindergarten through sixth with an iPad.  Teachers and students use iPad daily to engage and support all students in learning.
